Erica Ann Flood is a Documentary Style photographer who has been actively engaged in creating photographs for twenty years. Ms. Flood has been on a personal mission to gain a deeper understanding of the human experience around the globe. Her explorations have taken her to the San Blas Archipelago in Panama and Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2000 and 2001, respectively, as well as Kino Bay, Mexico in May of 2005 and Kenya in August of 2006. She received her Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts in 2002 from Greenfield Community College, with academic work concentrated in Human Ecology & Environmental Studies. She attended Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona where she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Photography with an emphasis in Documentary Studies in December 2005. Ms. Flood was a finalist in the Photographer’s Forum Best of College Photography Annual in 1999 and a recipient of the Suzanne Tito Award in Photography in January 2005. She uses her photography to explore the world around her, to educate and to inform. She enjoys sharing her many travels and experiences through the photographic medium. The ultimate goal of her work is to utilize a visual vocabulary that communicates across regional and cultural barriers, in order to bring about more compassionate understanding and tolerance in her viewers.

Ms. Flood has published work in Transitions Magazine, Alligator Juniper [2005 Edition], Raven Review Special Feature [Vol.6 #1, 10/29/04, Pg. 8&9], Raven Review [Vol.5 #2, 11/21/03, Pg. 1&4], Photographer’s Forum: Best of College Photography Annual 1999 (Pg. 177) and the Valley Advocate [Front pg. 1998]. Her work has been included in several group exhibitions including Prescott College Student Art shows (Fall 2005, December 2004, October 2004, December 2003 and the 1st Annual Ripple Project Event. Her most recent solo exhibit entitled Off the Beaten Path: Selected Works from Kenya, Part I was held at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA during the month of April 2009.

In addition to being a fulltime mother to a busy little baby girl she is a part time Program Coordinator for the Girls Eye View photography program in Amherst, Massachusetts; a program of the non-profit Youth Action Coalition which focuses on empowering and inspiring young women through photography.
